January Treat: The Perfect Necklace.

31 January 2015

Don't you just love the payday feeling, which lasts for about a week for me before I realise I really shouldn't be spending anymore on shopping! High-street shops no surprisingly thrive at this time, but this year I've made a resolution to myself that I'm only going to spend more on pieces I'll really treasure in a years time instead of loosing interest in the item after a couple of months.

Therefore, each month I'll be sharing with you all some of my favourite finds which are worth the payday splurge!!

January: The Perfect Necklace.

Latest Revival, is a new online luxury retailer where jewellery is the sole focus. All their jewellery is made up of a carefully curated collection of designer brands, innovators, up-and-coming talent, as well as one-of-a-kind estate pieces from established jewellery houses.

This piece I picked up before Christmas actually but currently they have the most stunning pieces, so this is exactly where I plan to treat myself for January.

A Need For Nowness

28 January 2015

This is by far one of the best fashion films this year, it combines the beauty of the human body, stunning apparel designs and digital interactive aspects, all into one very short film.

Directed by Luke White and Remi Weekes for Nowness.com, a video channel showcasing contemporary culture through film.  This was the launch of their first interactive, shoppable video, starring dancers from Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London, not only is it their first it's safe to say it's one of the very first ever to be made.

Stalked: Aquila Rose, Yoga Teacher, Islington.

26 January 2015

January not only marks the start of a new year, it is also the month that everyone signs up to the gym and promises to themselves to get fit and loose that holiday bulge. It's now coming towards the end of January and we all know that our enthusiasm for the gym will start to die (mine never started!). So this stalk is dedicated to keeping with those fitness regimes, as I caught up with Aquila, a yoga teacher and Lululemon ambassador.  She balances her time between East London and the countryside, getting the perfect mix of culture and fresh air. Here are a few tips from Aquila, who is starting up her own yoga studio on how to keep with it...

Advice for everyone starting a new year of fitness and your favourite way to work off that holiday indulging?

Start small if you are starting a run programme, don’t bother doing a 10 mile job, you’ll just end up hating yourself. Start with a slow steady 10 mins and build up a minute a day. But if you are starting yoga, try and go to class every day for a month and see if you can stop after that. You’ll be hooked!

LCM: A Killer Collection, Burberry Prorsum AW15

19 January 2015

He's done it again!!
As Suzy Menkes writes; 'The Burberry show at London Collections: Men was a text-book vision of branding - and it suggests that things have only got better since Bailey took over management of the entire company, rather than just its fashion side.'

With bohemian theme running through the collection, this was a ramped up sophisticated take on how to do 'bohemia' without looking like you've just come back from a 'Gap Yah'!!

Stalked: Amy Kristina Drucquer, Online Content Manager at Darling.

16 January 2015

For those of you who haven't heard of the rather dahling independent boutique 'Darling, well you really are missing out! Having only launched 4 years ago the brand has established itself as the 'English Rose' of the fashion world, supporting classic and flattering silhouettes.

I caught up with their online content manager, Amy, on how very darling (I could go all day with this one!!) her working days are!!

 What's your role within Darling?

I’m Online Content Manager at Darling, and look after all online marketing, social media, email marketing, photography and web sales.

LCM: A Street Syle Celebration of Mens Styling

12 January 2015

It's that time again to celebrate the world of menswear, whether it be with the latest emerging designer or just plan fantastic male styling, this week all of this will come together in what has become famously known as, London Collection Mens.

Here is a little post dedicated to all those very stylishly dressed males that I have snapped this weekend and last year at LCM.

A stalkers guide to menswear in London.

1. Know excellent tailoring when you see it. I snapped this very stylish male who swears by the brand Drakes London for everything from ties hand made in London to exquisite jackets (like the one he is wearing).

Stalked: Rachel Chiu, New York Fashion Illustrator.

6 January 2015

There's something so cool about fashion illustration, even through this is not classified by many galleries as a saleable art form, which is of course ridiculous! Personally I'd happily display fashion illustrations all around my house in London if I could and this is precisely what I have asked the very talented fashion illustrator Rachel Chiu to help me with! I caught up with this very talented little lady while she was visiting London recently from the big apple.

What do you do and why do you love your job?

I work as a fashion illustrator in New York.  I love my job!  I actually started my career as a fashion designer, but the longer I worked, the more I realised how much I love the illustration aspect of the design process.  I love being able to capture someone's personal style, render the way the clothes move and fall on a figure, and express the way I see fashion through hand drawing.  Personally, I think it's so fun and interesting to be able to put down on paper what I see in my head and be able to share that vision with an audience.

Stalked: Sandra Hagelstam, Blogger. 5 Inch And Up

2 January 2015
