Gloriously Spikey

29 January 2013

On the theme of hats this week, I spotted this little stylish lady on the Kings Road. It was love at first fashion sight with this hat and things only got better when I heard it was from our faithful highstreet friend, Zara!

After seeing this bad boy of a hat, I've now been inspired to try and make my own spikey creation! I will of course share my DIY tips on how to do this very soon! On the other hand if you're not a DIY fan, get on down to Zara as they still have them on sale.

The DvF Hat

28 January 2013

Last week in the sub zero temperatures we were experiencing in London, it was the perfect weather to bring out our gorgeous winter hats. This one I stalked in Soho and is a Diane von Fürstenberg !

I am a huge fan of simplicity when it comes to styling, but jazzed up with a statement piece, like this gorgeous hat!  I also adored her vintage tortoiseshell sunnies and the oversized coat.. very cool chick!

The Burberry Fox

23 January 2013

On a chilly wintry afternoon, I decided to take my new Fox, Terry, for walkies ! Terry is not your average fluffy and slightly stinky London fox, this particular fox is in the form of a bag - but I can assure you, no animals were killed in the making of this post!

This is not just another new bag that has been added to the Style StreetStalkers collection, this is the Burberry clutch that I recently won in our Christmas party prize draw!

When people ask what I spend my money on it isn't the classic answer of bags, it's actually coats and shoes, but more coats! Bags I'm actually dreadful with and have the grand collection of about five!! So I was utterly over the moon to win this clutch bag, as I probably could never have justified purchasing it myself, but my gosh I looove it!

The bag is from the Burberry London collection AW12 which you can find here.

Over the Christmas sale period I did go a little bit crazy with the shopping and the latest edition to my shoe wall, are these Burberry Chelsea boots. So useful and heaven to wear - I highly recommend getting a pair as they make a nice alternative to my usual bikers boots!

As some of my regulars will know, the Style StreetStalker is quite shy animal and doesn't love outfit posts, so I thought I'd make this one a bit special, sharing all my new favourite pieces from the past few months!

For this little wintry walk I wore my old vintage Ralph Lauren military coat, a favourite tee from Black Score 'Totes Jel Of My Chanel', which the BS team were handing out during LFW, teamed with Burberry skinnies, my faithful trilby hat, and the new Chelsea boots from Burberry.

Coat: Ralph Lauren, Tee: Black Score, Jeans: Burberry. Bag; Burberry Counrty Collection. Boots; Burberry. Hat; Reiss. Necklace; Garrard & Co and Dinny Hall.

My Oversized Obsession

21 January 2013

As you would have noticed, the over-sized and masculine shaped coat is very much 'in' fashion and although I'm not type of person that likes to follow trends (or admit to!!), I am currently obsessed with this one! I spotted this little lady on the Kings Road in Chelsea and had to stalk her!

If she wasn't cool enough, her clutch was also divine and even better when I heard that this bad boy was from Zara!!

Ideas For A Snowy Weekend

18 January 2013

Anyone would have thought that snow Armageddon was on it's way this weekend, with all the red alerts, amber alerts, don't leave your warm bed alerts!!! But just because traffic, transport and most of the country is at a stand still due to these snowy and very cold conditions, doesn't mean us Londoners have to be.. so here are a few ideas of what to do and remain warm!

The Ultimate Bomber Jacket

17 January 2013

I snapped this awesome chick as I ran out for a quick bite to eat at Bills in Soho, just for her awesome bomber jacket with embroidered biker symbols all over it. At heart I'm a mega biker chick - if I'm being honest, yes I actually do own a motorbike... helmet!!!!! One day though I plan to actually wear it on my vintage Triumph!

Her boots were limited edition and apparently can only be bought from this little shop in East London!!

The jacket was also a one off from a vintage shop, so pretty much this entire look is strictly a ' look but can't copy' outfit!!! Damnit!!

Christopher Kane's AW13 Collection

16 January 2013

A designers inspiration can come from the most unlikely corners of their imaginations and more often when a designer reaches outside our own world that's when things get awesome!!!
For Christopher Kane's AW13 men's collections and pre fall womenswear he drew on inspiration from two very famous characters - Frankenstein and Dracula.

'We loved Frankenstein and we weren't willing to let him go' were the words from the house of Christopher Kane, with furs and the eerie faces of Frankenstein, Dracula, werewolves and mummies printed on velvet slippers and t-shirts.

This season Kane had his 8 year old nephew, Thomas, sketch these fabled figures which inspired him with his latest collection, at the intimate presentation last week these fabulous sketches were on display. This seasons Kane man, is a young eccentric individual, who dressed in fur and leather will certainly stand out from the crowd!!

I adore Christopher Kanes work, every collections is seemlessly spot on, and this is another one!!!

London Collection: Men - Part 2

14 January 2013

This year the Men's accessories were cooler than ever, starting with the shoe designer Diego Vanassibara. After graduating from the renowned Cordwainers, he started to design these beautiful shoes in which he has incorporated Mahogany and other unique woods.

All handmade in Italy, Diego's passion for design and perfection shines through his shoes! All us ladies can hope for, is one day he develops a female range! Check him out here.

Latest jewellery from Tomasz Donocik, the very talented jewellery designer who has previously worked for the likes of Stephen Webster. His new range is spot on cool!!

You may have noticed I have recently snapped a few street style pics with my subjects all wearing Dr Martens. Personally I'm not a massive fan of them but I have to admit I've been more and more attracted to them recently purely for all their awesome collaborations and new designs! I popped to see the guys at Dr Marten and talk about their latest collection.

From Harris Tweed to faux Alligator, Dr Marten are really pushing the boundaries of their traditional boot, which is appealing to the more fashion conscious individual.

The menswear collections this year were great and we have some exciting designers and collections to look forward to this year! The designers I have mentioned are all ones to watch, from the emerging designers to the emerged, everyone is starting to really push the boundaries of menswear fashion, which in previous years some have described donkeys years behind womenswear - now it's evident they are catching up extremely quickly!!

London Collections: Men - Part 1

10 January 2013

It's that time of year again, in which walking down the street dressed head to toe in leather wearing huge bunny rabbit ears or a pig mask is absolutely acceptable if you are heading towards one of the British Fashion Council's venues for the London Collections: Men! This year I popped along to see whats new in the world of menswear!

When I arrived I made a bee line for a designer which had previously caught my eye for their awesome shirt collar jewellery, they have a similar one to the below, but with claws and chains! Please may I introduce The House Of Nines!

Ross Paul Keenan and Shamrez Marawat are the boys behind this exciting brand, both with impressive fashion backgrounds they launch their debut collection this season.

With Savile Row tailoring in their roots, they have reconstructed the traditional shirt for the gentleman with an appeal to stand out from the crowd!

I am pleased to say I will be profiling these guys in future in more detail but in the mean time check them out here.

Another awesome designer Matthew Miller  - I'm totally obsessed with this jacket, as you can tell I got a little bit happy snappy with it!!!

One of the main venues for LCM was The Hospital Club, a very cool members club in the heart of Soho. Designers exhibiting their menswear collections ranged from established to emerging talent, there's always a great vibe in these showrooms!

Flying that British flag very high, we were delighted to hear that Tom Ford has brought his collection back to London to show here, with rumours that London is now where everyone is coming! Yippee! Stay tuned for another Men's Fashion Week update tomorrow.
