I recently stumbled across the talented Elisa Sanna, an Italian born fashion designer who started her career in fashion through the world of tailoring at a very young age and this has stayed with her ever since. Her 2016
collection represent elegant women who embrace their femininity with the clothes that they wear. I caught up with her to find out more about this exciting designer and whats in store.
What is your latest
collection about?
For this collection I
decided to use natural fibres, like nettle, soie, hemp and silk. The collection
represents the woman in her all sensuality and elegance. Is a ultra feminine
collection, that emphasised the shapes of the body. It is made
for a woman sure of herself, that loves quality and that loves unique and
research dresses.
Describe a typical day.
My days are very different. I am lucky to have a creative work because
every day I have something different and new to do. My work is not just about
the creation, I manage every single part of my work. I mainly see about the
creativity part but I also administrate the business part and work about
proposal and collaboration request; but basically I pass my days in the
tailoring making research materials, drawing sketches and sewing prototypes of
new dresses with the seamstress.
Best advice anyone
has ever given you?
Probably it could
seems banal, but the best advice is just to continue in what I believe in.
What has been you best moment since starting up
your brand?
My best moments are when people see my dresses and their eyes light
up. These are my best moments, because I realize that my creations are not just
beautiful to me, but people love them too. This is the dream of my life, so
this is one of the most important part of my work, see people who wear my
collection.
What are you working
on now?
I am constantly looking for new and innovative
fabrics. I just use natural fabrics for my collection, the main fabrics I use
are made with soie, nettle, hemp and silk so actually I am constantly on the
research of new materials to use. I like the concept of these fabrics, because
these fibers are untreated by chemical procedures that modify their structure.
I am constantly looking for new and innovative natural fabrics to use for my
creations. So actually I am working on this and on my Paris and Milan spring
sell.
If you could live
in another country or city where would it be and why?
I would love to live
in Paris. Is romantic, young and is an eternal city. I love the spirit of
Paris. Is the same of my dresses. They both are charming, elegant and unique.
Which items can you
not live without?
I can't live without
heels and comfortable sneakers!
I love this look so much, Amazing photos too!
