Stalked: Krasimira Stoyneva, Emerging Fashion Designer

14 December 2015

Established in 2014, Krasimira Stoyneva’s signature use of hair and fabrication in her designs have become globally recognised. Her highly commended debut collection ‘Future Queens’ merged her signature style, with innovation and confidence for an inspiring reinvention of designs for the fashion industry.

I caught up with her to find out more about her latest hairy collection...

Why did you decide to get into fashion?

I suppose it have always been present trough my family. I grew up watching my mum sew. My grandparents also were in the industry and I always aspired to be like them.

What is your latest collection about?

I wanted to showcase how different the hair can be used. Historically hair has always been a important element of a women’s image and I wanted to create a modern twist. By using hair within garments I wanted to empower a modern woman. With this in mind I also wanted to create elegance with the hair and highlight its femininity and delicacy.

What inspires you?

Everything, life, art, people, music – I always find it’s hard to explain as I have a very strange tactic of creating my collections. I will start with one thing then jump to another till I find my ultimate sample or clear vision of what I want. I keep on researching and adding different twists to it all. I don’t like the idea of having one static idea, I like the development process and learning new things.

Who are the designers that inspire you?

Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, Jean Paul Gautier, Victor and Ralf and many more. But I find it hard to mention only one or two as they all inspire me for different reasons.

What has been you best moment since starting up your brand?

I have so many great moments it’s hard to choose. I would have to say that my top three are, Firstly I having complete creative control of what I do, secondly I winning the Vogue & Muuse Young Vision award 2014 was such a pivotal moment as a young designer. Lastly but definitely not least working with great people in a creative environment which means the most to me

Five items you can't live without?
