Recently one of my favourite emerging jewellery designers, Tessa Packard, released her latest SS15 collection, and what a fun one it is! I caught up with her to sneak a peep at her sketch book and find out more about her latest collection, titled 'Fat Free'.
What was your main
inspiration?
English penny sweets
were the main source of inspiration, along with the Pop Art movement which
iconised the mundane or the perishable in a way never seen before, transforming
these objects into timeless and much sought after valuables.
Which is your
favourite piece?
It is a close call
between the Fried Egg Earrings and the Evil Tooth Fairy Necklace. Both are
ridiculous and beautiful in equal measure and for me juxtaposition is what
makes jewellery interesting.
How would you wear
this collection?
The charm bracelets
and necklaces are designed to be layered together to create your own version of
your favourite ‘sweet-shop’. We purposefully customised the chain lengths with
the necklaces to allow the charms to sit along side or above one another, not
on top of one another. We are also bringing out a range of ‘pick’n’mix’
stacking rings which again are designed to be layered up with one another. The
fine jewellery pieces are statements in themselves, and I would say are best
worn with not much else.

Fat free is out now, check out her whole collection here.
