For those of you who haven't heard of the rather dahling independent boutique 'Darling, well you really are missing out! Having only launched 4 years ago the brand has established itself as the 'English Rose' of the fashion world, supporting classic and flattering silhouettes.
I caught up with their online content manager, Amy, on how very darling (I could go all day with this one!!) her working days are!!
What's your role
within Darling?
I’m Online Content
Manager at Darling, and look after all online marketing, social media, email
marketing, photography and web sales.
How did you get
into fashion?
I’ve wanted to work in fashion since I can
remember. I studied Fashion & Textile Retailing at the University of
Manchester, which was a great way to get an understanding of the whole
industry. I’ve worked in all areas in fashion, from Merchandising to Product
Development, and I spent some time interning at LFW shows. I moved into online
after studying Front End Development, and have never looked back! I really like
being able to combine creativity with sales strategy.
What’s your normal
working day?
My normal day can be incredibly varied and
involves working with lots of different people. I get in a check my emails, see
what press we’ve received from our US and UK PR agencies, followed by a quick
check over our social media to see what’s happening. I design our weekly
emails, so I’ll spend my morning planning a trend story and translating this
into an email. I also plan and manage all aspects of the online photography, so
I can be assisting on shoots or working on concepts and looks. We’re also in
the middle of a web re-design, so I’ll spend my afternoon getting my geek on
and designing our new website.
Five items you can't live without.
