Stalked: Lucy Alston, Brand Stylist, Hobbs

28 November 2014

Please meet the lovely Lucy, the very talented stylist behind Hobbs' gorgeous shoots, windows and general overall look! No surprise she is also one of my favourite pinterest pinners, her style and taste comes out in her boards.

What do you do and what's the best part of your job?

I am Senior Brand Stylist for Hobbs, my favourite part of the job is the trend research,  keeping up with the latest shows of the season and compiling into a presentation. I also love pulling together seasonal moodboards which dipict a real sense of the season to come, which I use for window styling and online edits. Being envolved in the very beginnings of the creative process and product is also something that I find a really enjoyable part of my job.

The Man Clutch

26 November 2014

Ohh that fabulous old debate, should men wear bags? Funnily enough quite a few men and women say no...! But I think, why shouldn't they, us women count them as a necessity to hall around all our daily essentials. So it's unfair to think men have to solely depend on their pockets for the wads of cash, that they are hopefully planning to spend on us later on in the day!! (Just kidding!)

Stalked: Emma Miller, Model and Blogger.

24 November 2014

Please may I introduce you to the lovely Emma, a world famous model, blogger, and actress. While studying at King's College London, Emma worked around the world, for major brands such as Avon, L’Oréal and Diane von Fürstenberg, as well as appearing in the hit American television series Entourage. Now who said girls can't multi-task!!!

As the sun set over Marylebone, I caught up with Emma for a little Q&A on her life in fashion, reality TV and where she shops and eats in the city.

Tell us about what you do and what you love about your job?

I'm a model, represented by Nevs Model Agency in London & Next Model Management in the US. In 2013 I launched my own fashion blog, dedicated to covering life in the fashion industry. Besides featuring my personal Style Diary and Style Guides, I report from the front row at international fashion weeks and get the behind-the-scene scoops from industry insiders.

Currently Obsessed: My Daniel Wellington

21 November 2014

There is one accessory that I am incredibly fussy about and that is my watch. I have the grand total of two.. one is my Rolex that I wear when I am feeling professional and the other is my new found friend, Daniel Wellington, who I save for wicked weekends!!

If your darling other half is anything like mine, they would have asked 5 times already 'what do you want for Christmas' and if you're anything like me.. you won't have a bloody clue!!!

To make you're decision a little bit easier, I have a little prezzy for you... for all my lovely readers a nice little 15% off these divine watches, read on for codes!

Back To Basic Stalking: Maiko Shibata. Black Is The New Black

19 November 2014

There's a fine line between being dressed all in black and looking like a goth or being dressed all in black and looking on-trend and fabulous!!

My latest stalk, Maiko Shibata from Paris gets it spot on, the reason being she has played around with textures of black rather than the colour itself. I'm sure you'll agree the oversized sweater with the leather A-line skirt works to a tee.

Stalked: Katie Lightfoot, Fashion Agent and Fashion Designer Of Mercy Delta

17 November 2014

I have to admit I'm a real sucker for a silk shirt, especially the beautiful veriety that the brand Mercy Delta has to offer. The designer behind the brand started it after her love of fashion became too much for her not to become a designer herself. Please meet Katie, the brains and talent behind Mercy Delta and the fashion agent of the likes of Sunday Somewhere.

What do you do and what's the coolest aspect about it?

I'm a fashion agent and designer with my own label, Mercy Delta. Manufacturing is pretty full on, and there is not much time for glamour. But I love meeting with the many buyers who’ve become friends over the years. They are the cool side of my business!

My Winter Whites: An Interview With Lavender Hill Clothing

15 November 2014

Now, who says that whites should be kept for summer? There's nothing I love more than donning a pair of white jeans and a gorgeous crisp white t-shirt with a massive winter coat for a weekend walk in the country. Often the issue is finding that simple basic t-shirt that once you've found the perfect one will go with everything under the sun!

Drum roll... please may I introduce the new kids on the block for beautiful simplistic t-shirts that are amazing quality, the Lavender Hill Clothing company! The brand was launched in 2013 by 24 year old Isobel Ridley with the aim of creating simple, luxurious, attractive and affordable pieces which you will want to wear everyday.

I caught up with Isobel to find out how she wears hers...

Why did you decide to start a t-shirt company?

I was finding it difficult to buy good quality, flattering essentials for an affordable price.

Back To Basic Stalking: The Culotte

14 November 2014

While popping to Somerset House recently to check out their new Fashioning Winter exhibition, I bumped into this very stylish lady who works for Matches Fashion. The main reason I stalked her was because of her divine culottes and Acne sneakers.

Although some may call the culotte a real 'man repeller', us girls in fashion love them, team them with a gorgeous pair of sneakers for ultra comfort and style, or with kitten heels for that slightly smarter look.

Stalked: Hattie Buzzard, Knitwear Designer.

10 November 2014

Recently I had the pleasure of meeting a very talented and recent Fashion Textiles graduate from London College of Fashion, Hattie Buzzard.

Hattie specialises in knitwear design and exploring processes of felting to sculpt and manipulating the surfaces of her knit - creating unique and unexpected fabrics. Intrigued by human to object relationships, her work is often based on ideas of encouraging a more lasting connection to our possessions.

I caught up with her to talk about what is next for this talented designer.

What do you do and what do you love about your job?

I am currently working on developing  my own accessory range, comprising mostly of statement scarves / collars and clutch bags. Each piece is unique and hand crafted on my own knitting machine. The textures and surfaces within my work are created through the process of felting each piece once it has been knitted. My favourite thing about being creative is the feeling you get in that moment when you discover something amazing in a new technique or process.

Stalked: Daisy Knights, Jewellery Designer.

3 November 2014

There are a few designers that have nailed the world of instagram and Daisy is one of them! Her life through the world of the instagram lens is as enchanting (and encapsulating) as her designs.

Since graduating from Central Saint Martins, Daisy Knights has established herself as the go-to brand for British designer jewellery. Her signature rock and roll, luxury bohemian style has cemented a celebrity following including; Kate Moss, Alexa Chung, Cara Delevingne, Rihanna, Rita Ora and Laura Bailey. Daisy’s ethereal designs are regularly featured in top fashion magazines; with fashion editors giving standout acclaim to her designs. There is no doubting that this lovely lady is one to follow.

Why do you love designing jewellery and why did you want to be a designer?

I learnt from my father who was a hobby silversmith - I made my first ring with him when I was 11 - it was a shared passion and continues to be. I enjoy seeing my designs become a reality.
