Stalked: The House Of Peroni

15 July 2014

Welcome to House of Peroni, an exclusive London establishment in which you walk in feeling British, from the streets of London and walk out shouting 'Ciao Bella' to everyone you see! House of Peroni doesn't believe in guest lists and membership fees, but instead it opens its doors to all passers by, to educate them in things beautifully Italian, with rooms that ooze with culture from every nook and cranny.
I popped in to Stalk the head barman and master of The House cocktails, Fede. Before I started he thrust a Negroni (a classically italian cocktail) into my hand, so, there I was outside The House with camera in one hand and Negroni in the other, if only every shoot could be like that!!!

What do you do and what's the coolest thing about your job?

I am a Mixologist and coffee shop owner (the Coppa Cafe in Dublin). For the month of May I was the head Mixologist at The House of Peroni in Holborn where I designed a menu of 9 different Peroni Nastro Azzurro infused cocktails. The coolest thing about my job is having the chance to serve people and try to improve their day and make them happier. I also love playing with ingredients.

How did you first get involved with House Of Peroni?

I was approached by The House of Peroni in March and obviously with such a prestigious brand such as Peroni, I was really excited and jumped at the chance.

What's your favourite cocktail?

It depends on the mood I’m in, the weather, the place, the company I’m with. But if I had to choose one, it would either be a Negroni or Spritz, because I love my Italian aperitifs.

How would you describe your personal style?

I do like big designers and am inspired by them. I also get my inspirations from other trendy people around me, especially in such stylish cities such as London, New York or Berlin. I would define my personal style as “thrifty” as I don’t necessarily wear expensive clothes. I do colour co-ordinate, which goes as far as my socks and underwear. I do have about 70 pairs of shoes and 40 pairs of blazers.

Favourite Italian menswear designer and favourite English designer?

Italian would be Costume National and English would be Tricker’s shoes.

Five items you can't live without?

My ring (it’s made up of 7 rings) – I feel naked without it and it’s indispensable to me
    My Bulova Computron watch
   My Comme de Garcon wallet
My flamingo earring – I took my mum to Greece as a surprise and I got my ears pierced as a memory, or piece of momento of the trip
     My Etro Jacket
The Guardian newspaper, I read it more than I check my Facebook     (this is extra, so you can choose which ones you like more!)

After two or three of Fede's fantastic Negroni's, I couldn't help but stalk the beautiful Jovana, (PR and Events) to find out when the next house is opening and what is in store for October!

What is your role within The House of Peroni?

I work on both the PR and events side of The House, and responsibilities include anything from getting media down to the various launches we have, to procuring events suppliers for the many masterclasses we have in The House.

What's the coolest aspect of The House?

The fact that it’s open to the public for free almost every single day, from 12pm – 12am, and you really can just drop by any time without a reservation to enjoy the bars, food, and various artistic installations displayed in The House.

The rooms were super cool being deducted to different Italian designers and artists, how were they chosen?

For us it was really about choosing people that were at the forefront of their respective industries whether it be art, film, fashion or food, that were portraying innovative and exciting ideas thus helping us create the “new wave” of Italian creatives.

What's your favourite Fede cocktail?

The Negroni Bottiglia was definitely top of the list – it was created using specially made Peroni Nastro Azzurro bitters that came in a little bottle, like something out of Alice in Wonderland, which you then poured into your own drink.

What's on the cards for October?

We’ll continue to give the public a great place to become immersed in the best of Italian culture and creativity. You can expect brand new food menus, bespoke drinks, exciting masterclasses with new events partners, and of course all-new talent who will help re-transform The House.

Five items you can't live without?
