Ideas For A Snowy Weekend

18 January 2013

Anyone would have thought that snow Armageddon was on it's way this weekend, with all the red alerts, amber alerts, don't leave your warm bed alerts!!! But just because traffic, transport and most of the country is at a stand still due to these snowy and very cold conditions, doesn't mean us Londoners have to be.. so here are a few ideas of what to do and remain warm!

Starting with one of my favourite restaurants and bars - Dollar Grill & Martini's. This place is situated on Exmouth Market and is the coolest place to go for an entire evening.

No fear there isn't a whiff of horse meat in sight!! Instead there highly expensive and Delicious Wagyu beef (which here isn't expensive which makes it even better!)!

After supper head down to their intimate bar to drink the night away with the most delicious martini's and music!!

One warning though about Dollar Grill & Martini's  - You may well have a hangover in the morning !! So a much needed brunch and retail therapy is needed! At this point I need to introduce you to one of my favourite brunch places  - Cafe 202 in Notting Hill.

Fashion, art and food is brought together in this gem of a place on Westbourne Grove. FYI: The kedgeree is literally to die for!

At 202 you will find the most unique and cool designers as well as awesome artwork! This place is the perfect Saturday hang-out-and-recoup place!

If you are anything like me, I'm terribly at going out two nights in a row, I blame it on old age!! Well this is one of my favourite nights - supper with a friend, followed by a film at a cinema with a serious twist!

Go early to Granger and Co to get a table as this place by 8 gets utterly crazy and of course has a no reservations policy! Although even if you have to wait, it's well worth it! I love the pork rack with salad - pure food porn!!

Now when I said 'cinema with a twist' I meant it!! This place you can recline the seats, raise the leg rests and enjoy your martini with a twist of lemon with a delicious sticky toffee pudding! This happens to be what I have every time we go here!

Waiter service to your seats throughout the film and you don't even have to be a member to go here!! The cinema is in Bayswater in the Whiteley's shopping centre! Check it out here.

Come rain, shine or snow these places are must check outs and well worth the extra bit of effort to get to if you need to travel through the snow for them!!

Have a lovely snowy weekend!
