As we say farewell to 2012, a mammoth year of celebrations, from The Queens Jubilee to that little sporting event called the Olympics! For the Style StreetStalker it has also been a fabulous year, so I thought I'd give you a little recap of my favourite moments.
Starting with the main reason I started the blog - Street Style baby! I've photographed some fabulous fashionista's, here are some of my favourites!
The year started with a bang, with a New Years Party to remember - theme: Alice In Wonderland, held at a dear friends house in Belgravia. I designed (and made) my dress from a picture I'd seen of a Nina Ricci dress. On the creative theme - I helped the boys bring a little bit of creativeness to the house, which included a tiny door you entered through, followed by a 'drink me' shot, upstairs the sitting room had fake grass, hedges the lot!! Check out the party here.
When I first started the blog just over a year ago, as well as street style I wanted to document the style within the company that I work, therefore a big thank you to some of my favourite models! Elena - the fabulous Burberry girl.
.... the instinctively fashionable Milda, who gets it spot on every day!
And how could I not mention and thank our gorgeous Prorsum girl - Olga, whose entire wardrobe is Burberry Prorsum and wows us all everyday with her fabulous style!
This year I attended some brilliant festivals firstly to Wales where I toddled on down to the Hay Festival to meet Alexandra Shulman - fashion awesomeness!!! And snapped some great literature loving style!
And then to Latitude to stalk some serious festival style!
2012 brought some amazing events, including a little party at Number 10 Downing Street! A party I will remember forever!!
Two fabulous fashion weeks, both of which I have been lucky enough to really sink my fashion fangs into - February I attended an intimate talk with Anna Della Russo, an inspirational fashion figure! September my favourite show (apart from Burberry obviously) was Alice Temperley, the simplicity of the collection overwhelmed me, setting the mark high for SS13!
Style StreetStalking during fashion week is the creme de la creme!! My favs here.
Those little details we all love!
A year of you stalking me......!
Definitely the most amusing event I attended, was the filming of the latest Adam Ant video, where for a Sunday afternoon I was dressed as a Victorian Wench! The Video is out now and here!
My favourite thing about this blog, is stumbling across some fabulous designers! BOY London remains one of the ultimates, as the history behind this brand is fascinating!
Some of my early followers might remember Gastro StreetStalker, which was my food blog. My two passions in life are food and fashion, so I simply had to blog about them - therefore, after much deliberation I decided to merge the two blogs together, here are some of my favourite places over the year.
Over the year it's been amazing meetings so many fabulous people, recently I worked with the founders of Elvira Vintage to profile their new venture - an awesome vintage store.
How could I miss out mentioning Vogue's Fashion Night Out - one of the best so far I think!!
My favourite DIY moment - MY SPIKEY CONVERSE!!!!! Still the item I get the most comments on the street and in shops, whenever I wear them! I strongly recommend you DIY a pair!! Or get me to make you a pair!!
Arghh still my favourite trainer wedges - the cult sneaker well and truly!
For the last couple of months, a certain little Style StreetStalker was asked to collaborate with an awesome new online shopping destination called Rufflr to head up their Street Style section! The site is growing from strength to strength and is certainly one to get involved with!! Read more on this here.
This year I have developed the blog so that I am working with more Emerging designers as well as established, it's been an absolute pleasure working with the types of Olivia Burton Watches (awesome vintage inspired watches), THU THU (Brown's Boutique's No 1 selling young designer), Alix Of Bohemia, (an all time favourite and dresser of the likes of Sienna Miller) and last but certainly not least my favourite and to be VERY hot eyewear designer FINLAY & CO.
As another year goes past, Style StreetStalker has got more and more exciting for the Stalker, but I would like to thank all of you who read and follow this blog, without you guys, well, I simply would have hung up my Canon a long time ago! Love you guys and love all your lovely comments - thank you! Ok Oscar speech over... !
2013, I have feeling is going to be a good one for SSS, this year I will be doing more interviews with industry experts, famous bloggers and designers, you'll notice more Street Style coming in as I stalk the streets of London looking for my next fashion fix! Also I will be starting a fun new platform for all of you guys to promote yourselves and style through my blog.. more on this to come! So stay tuned stalkers for an exciting year ahead!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
