A Garden Of Paradise: Morocco Day Two

10 July 2012

One of my favourite places to visit in Morocco are the The Majorelle Garden in Marrakesh, designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle, a sanctuary of peacefulness within a bustling city.

Ever read the Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe?- when Lucy enters the Wardrobe and emerges the other side into a snow covered forest; this is a similar feeling to entering the gardens. You leave the dusty, hot and hectic city of Marrakech stepping through the beautiful ornate Moroccan door into the gardens, as the oxygen from the plants hits you it’s the most amazing feeling and is like entering a different world.

Filled with colourful Moroccan pots, ponds filled with fish, lilies and turtles, it’s no surprise that since 1980 the garden has been owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé.

The shirt I am wearing is one of my creations - this is a little DIY number of how to spice up an old men's shirt.. blog post on this one to follow shortly I promise!

After a beautiful afternoon wondering around the gardens we sat down to another superb feast from Casa Taos with the famous Moroccan mint tea to follow which we sat lounging by the pool until late... Paradise is the only word to describe this place!!!
