Monday afternoon I attended an event at one of the world’s most famous addresses, to celebrate the launch of ‘Food is GREAT Britain’ organised by The Sustainable Restaurant Association. As well as rubbing shoulders (literally!) with Mr C, in one of the spectacular rooms of 10 Downing Street, I was in heaven surrounded by my foody greats, Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jnr, Thomas Keller, Rick Stein, Gordon Ramsey, are just a few that were sending me into a fit of excitement!
As you can imagine the canapés were to die for, my favourite were the venison scotch eggs made with a small bright orange runny egg yolk inside, these were presented in blue egg box trays with hay at the bottom, unbelievably divine! Sadly we were not able to take any snaps and phones were collected off us before entering so no calls could be taken in a loud voice ‘I’m sorry what was that.. I’m in 10 Downing Street’!!!
For such a British event what other designer could I honestly wear, other than Thomas Burberry! Dressed practically head to toe in Burberry Prorsum, I was flying the Burberry flag very high. That divine coat and bag is from the AW10 collection and the dress is from AW09. My shoes are from one of my other favourite designers Georgina Goodman.
The event was unbelievable and we met some amazing restaurateurs. We giggled with Greg Wallace, Sam Harrison and Andrei Lussmann outside Number 10 as we all joked around taking those famous No10 door pictures! After the event we went to an after party and the Corinthia Hotel where we sipped divine cocktails, made with the gorgeous Chase Vodka and chatted to the talented and rather yummy Baker Brothers!
